Cranial Sacral Therapy employs the use of gentle, therapeutic touch to manipulate the skeleton and connective tissues, especially the joints between the cranial plates, spine and sacrum. Practitioners believe that disruptions in the subtle, rhythmic pulsations of the central nervous system interfere with health. Treatment involves the practitioner moving limbs and body along the spine, looking for restriction and applying subtle touch to remove it. Cranial Sacral Therapy is believed to be relevant in the treatment of a broad range of conditions, including migraine headaches, sleep disturbances, TMJ and head trauma.
