Orthotropics is a treatment for malocclusion (crooked teeth) which encourages forward growth of upper and lower jaws to make room for all the teeth. The philosophy behind Orthotrpics is that crooked teeth is a result of improper tongue posture, mouth-breathing and under-developed jaws as result of modern food and living-practices, rather than due to genetics. Treatment may involve removable widening appliances and tongue-training braces to create the facial structure that will support straight teeth.
